MISS GLOBAL 2014-2015 TITLE

ABOARD CROWN PRINCESS CRUISE SHIP SAIL IN MEXICO

Cabo San Lucas, MX – JANUARY 24, 2014 – This past December, during an exciting MISS GLOBAL 2014 Beauty Pageant aboard the Crown Princess Cruise ship sailing from Los Angeles, California to Mexico from December 13th-20th, 2014, Miss Canada, Ela Mino, won the prestigious Miss Global 2014 title.

Ela Mino is a 23 year-old from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Mino, who is of Albanian descent, has previous experience in the pageant circuit as she was Miss Calgary 2012 and one of the Top 10 finalists out of 57 Canadian delegates in the Miss Universe Canada 2013 pageant. She's a passionate young woman full of life and have graduated from the University of Calgary, Majoring in Law and Society, with a Minor in Political Science. After completing her undergraduate degree, she plans to attend Law School and is interested in human rights and immigration law. In addition to her academic endeavors, Ela is also a dedicated athlete and is a strong believer in living a healthy and active lifestyle as she is an avid ice hockey and soccer player. As an athletic since the age of 5, she has learned the importance of commitment, ambition and leadership. Ela was also fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to travel to Eastern Europe at a young age and experience the cultures of other countries. Witnessing the extreme poverty in some parts of countries like Albania, Ela was motivated to find a way to help those in need. At the age of 10, she began volunteering at the Centre for Newcomers, a centre that dedicated to helping new comers to Canada integrate into Canadian society. As she has grown, she has continued to embrace any opportunities that allow her to be actively involved in her community.

The MISS GLOBAL® 2014 Beauty Pageant sponsored by Paul Mitchell School of Pasadena, Cao Cosmetics, and Amaka Global, featured delegates from all over the world. Delegates were judged in three categories: international wear, swimsuit, evening gown and interview. Emily Kiss, Miss Global 2013 crowned her Canadian successor at the conclusion of the one week competition and 90 minute stage presentation. The Miss Global 2014 pageant was hosted by Brian Corsetti and Emily Kiss on the Crown Princess Cruise sailing along Baja California making stops in Mazatland, Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Special Guest Judge included Naima Mora, winner of America’s Next Top Model cycle 4. Final results are as follows: First Runner-up, Miss Australia, Elise Natalie Duncan; Second Runner-up, Miss Philippines, Catherine Almirante; Third Runner-up, Miss Kazakhstan, Aizhan Lighg; and Fourth Runner-up, Miss Sri Lanka, Benazir Thaha.
